Why a tracking plan matters
Most GA4 implementations fail not because GTM is hard, but because nobody documented what should be measured before the implementation started. A tracking plan is the contract between marketing, product, and analytics.
What’s in the template
- Events tab: every event with description, trigger, and parameters
- Properties tab: user and event-scope properties with types and example values
- Conversions tab: which events count as conversions and where they’re forwarded
- Source-of-truth tab: which platforms own which metrics
